Flour Child Creations is a small Minnesota company starting with only a VW bus, a vintage camper, an ingenious idea and talent. Chef Elizabeth Eliason and her partner, Chad Vieths, continually search for great vintage pieces while creating a family-owned business using their passion for food and Volkswagens while meeting unforgettable people along the way. Flour Child Creations provides incredible, custom cakes and showpieces for all occasions.

History

Flour Child is the love child of a pastry chef and a VW fanatic. When Elizabeth Eliason, cake designer, and Chad Vieths, air-cooled preservationist, decided to combine their talents, they decided to purchase a VW bus to vend cake and other gourmet desserts. Over the past three years, their simple idea has evolved. After restoring a very rare 1958 Westfalia, a 1949 canned ham camper was obtained to become the future vending unit for two reasons: first, the rarity of the bus meant it needed to stay original; second, two people can comfortably work within the refrigerated camper, while having enough product to supply any venue for an entire day. Keeping the bus as original as possible has been an incredible weight-loss program for both of their wallets, which is why they enlisted Kickstarter.com for assistance in their next step: a commercial kitchen.
